Reece Hudson No. 9 Handle Bag: Birds of a Feather…

What could be better than a quilted white bag to welcome the lazy days of summer? That would be a quilted white OSTRICH bag! Add crocodile to the patchwork equation and you have the most dynamic summertime bag for miles. Reece Hudson‘s No. 9 Handle bag is deceptively simple in its design yet rich in details. From the decadent mishmash of ostrich quills to the ostrich leg skin to the fabulously seamed blend of crocodile, this bag has more than textural intrigue – white-hot (multiple) animal magnetism. It is pieced together like a chevron puzzle – so much so that I stared at it a full five minutes and kept seeing something new every few seconds. The flap with silver bar is not only aesthetically pleasing but very functional (would love it if the bar clasp was a flashlight pen – wouldn’t that be genius?!). Now this is a bag I wouldn’t mind investing in! And don’t be intimidated: white ostrich is no higher maintenance than white leather. Just send it to a leather specialist once a year, and you’ll be fine – that is, after a long summer of enjoying every expertly-stitched inch of it. At Kirna ZabĂȘte for $4,400.Pair with: Skin is in, but it must be balanced out. The “Philosophy” pinstripe pencil skirt by Vivienne Westwood in summer-light wool with flamboyantly cut fabric complements the bag by contrasting it. At Net-a-Porter for $380.
